Fishy First Dates - Vitty

Vitty - 'A job well done' in old Devon dialect

What would your ideal date entail? Rendez-vous in the park? Candlelit dinner in your favourite restaurant? Thrill seeking visit to Thorpe Park? Heartwarming trip to the zoo? I admit you may think I am strange! But this was mine... On one of our first dates Edd and I journeyed to Devon to spend a weekend chasing wild brownies - A dream date! They say a way to a man's heart is food, well mine is fishing! What was even more impressive was that Edd executed the idea himself and surprised me in the car on the way there - I think I have met my match!

Like two peas in a pod we trundled down to Devon to fish the River Lyd, Lew and Bovey... I am new to dry fly fishing and I must say I am totally hooked! Added excitement to my obsession. ‪#‎cannygetenough‬

A wild brownie in the depths of Devon

If you get the chance to visit this beautiful part of England I highly recommend The Arundell Arms Hotel in Lifton particularly if you're fishing nearby rivers including the Tamar.
