River Test... Wetting Tails & Scales

One of the most idyllic chalk streams to fish in the UK, you’ll be hunting trout from dawn till dusk. We were using DLL, sedges, klinkhammers🔨and the odd nymph for the frisky grayling often referred to as 'The Lady of the Stream'.

By the tail end of the day we had triumphantly landed 10 rainbow/brown trout of a decent size and all fish were released back to live another day! 🎉

If you are seeking for a place to kip I propose ‘The Dove Inn’. It's just what you need after a hard days fishing!
We arrived with a colossal 🌈rainbow🌈 trout from Dever Springs and they offered to gut and store it overnight with no qualms.

You Right Ol' Dever

On the same weekend being the obsessive fisherman that we are we made a quick visit to Dever Springs Fishery (Hampshire) and we found ourselves a little spoilt for choice...

What tickles your fancy? Personally Dever Springs was bulls-eye!

I am captivated by the skill of dry fly fishing, something that has been introduced to me not so long ago. I've done my fair share of lake fishing and that too I enjoy but there is something sensational about witnessing the lips of a trout surface and engulf the fly into their mouths so gracefully.

Dever Springs offers both; the two spring fed lakes hold trophy winning rainbow/brown trout and the chalk stream, River Dever (a tributary of the River Test) that meanders around the far side of the lake offers wild brown trout, the latter, which you can stalk till the 🐄cows🐄 come 🏡home🏡!

A mighty fine fishery! **Open all year round**
